HUD Announces New Funding for Community-Engaged Homelessness Research

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) announced a new funding opportunity for institutions of higher education or nonprofit entities that train and support institutions of higher education to conduct research applying community-engaged methods to address homelessness.

Community-engaged research meaningfully engages the community that is the subject of the research, including community groups and people with lived experience.

The funded research will:

  1. Contribute to general knowledge of homelessness;
  2. Contribute to programs and interventions designed to address homelessness in communities; and
  3. Elevate the perspectives and insights of people with lived experience.

$1 million is available. The application deadline is July 13.
