HUD Announces Additional Assistance to Keep Foster Youth Housed

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded more than $1 million to public housing agencies (PHAs) to help young people transition out of foster care.

The funding went to 26 PHAs in 20 states to help them provide housing assistance to youth who are aging out of foster care and are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

In September, HUD awarded more than $14 million to 18 PHAs through the Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) initiative.
