The Council

Members

The members of the council consist of leaders from the following 19 federal agencies:

  4. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
  5. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  6. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
  7. Department of Commerce
  8. Department of Defense (DOD)
  9. Department of Energy (DOE)
  10. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  11. Department of Interior
  12. Department of Justice (DOJ)
  13. Department of Transportation (DOT)
  14. AmeriCorps
  15. General Services Administration (GSA)
  16. Office Management and Budget (OMB)
  17. Social Security Administration (SSA)
  18. United States Postal Service (USPS)
  19. White House Office on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships

Meetings

The council meets four times a year to advance federal collaboration and coordination. In between council meetings, USICH convenes interagency working groups focused on key issues and activities. These meetings all focus on identifying high-impact strategies and aligning efforts to achieve the goals of the Federal Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness.

Leadership

The council elects a chair and vice chair annually from among its members. The current leadership is:
