Targeted Federal Homelessness Funding: How the President’s FY 2024 Budget Compares to Past Budgets

President Biden’s budget targets nearly $10.3 billion in federal funding for homelessness assistance programs.

The budget represents an overall 6% increase from FY 2023 and an increase of:

  1. 90% for DOJ’s Transitional Housing Assistance Grants to Victims of Sexual Assault
  2. 64% for HHS’ Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness
  3. 23% for HHS’ Health Care for the Homeless.
