Labor Department Now Accepting Applications for Homeless Veterans’ Job Training and Assistance

The Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced a $25 million funding opportunity to help organizations and agencies provide training and employment services to help veterans combat homelessness.

The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) awards, which are administered by the department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS), will provide grantees up to $500,000 a year for up to three years , for a total of $1.5 million.

The grants can be used for:

  1. Occupational skills training;
  2. On-the-job training opportunities, such as Registered Apprenticeship programs; and
  3. Employment placement assistance.
