HUD Awards More Funding to Help Keep Former Foster Youth Housed
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently awarded nearly $621,000 to 14 public housing agencies (PHAs) in 12 states.
The PHAs can use the funding, which comes from the Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Program, to provide housing assistance to youth who are aging out of foster care and experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The funding will make 60 housing choice vouchers available.
