June 22, 2010
Today lead Cabinet secretaries from the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness gathered to release Opening Doors: Federal Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness, which sets the goals of finishing the job of ending chronic homelessness and homelessness among veterans by 2015, and ending homelessness among families, youth, and children by 2020. Officials from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Labor, and Veterans Affairs joined USICH Executive Director Barbara Poppe to deliver this plan to the President and Congress.
